Contemporary Impressionism Painting
It is far more exciting to see how an artist feels about a place rather than look at what he/she sees in the most strict formal way as an observer. Impressionism in painting allows us to see brushstrokes as something joyful and expressive unto themselves. In this workshop, we will use subjects inspired by the nature of the UAE to learn several impressionist techniques. Impressionism's most fundamental painting technique is ‘broken color,’ which gives the beautiful sensation of light. We will observe this effect by looking closely at the brushstrokes, vibrant color palette, and attention to reflected light that identifies the Impressionist style.
